I was considering purchasing a pup from an out-of-state breeder, and the subject breeder was at the top of my list. After reading this thread, it may never happen. I still hold the subject breeder in high regard, but I'd be very concerned about the shipping of my pup.
Getting the wrong pup due to an honest mixup would be a "disaster". This would likely mean that two people got the wrong pup.
Also, if the pup is not recognizable when it arrives, think about what the poor little pup experienced during the trip.
The good news is that pups, according to the Dog Whisper, live in the moment, and would hopefully forget the experience once they realized they were in a loving, permanent home.
