I know, it is bizarre....I think they like the feeling of 'something' under them while they eat.
TJ eats Raw and I cut up his meat patti (still sorta frozen, as he likes it that way) and spread it around a medium glass plate. On the floor I have a special plastic placemate, which I put his plate on...BUT...I also 'tuck' a dish towel under the placemate (in the front, a little bit) and the rest is like a 'mini' carpet for him to stand on and eat
~ Doing this I have kept him from wandering when eating
