WELCOME to the site! It's great to have you here with us! I think you're very wise to be looking so closely and in detail before you go out and get that pup, it shows great dedication and sincereity. Lots of people would just go out and get one and then think about it, so I think you're wondeful for thinking so hard about it.

Now, all breeds in the Toy category require a LOT of companionship and love, I dont believe that to be specific to Yorkies, but I think having a dog and working can be done. It's not easy, but it's do-able in my opinion. Having the whole Summer hols is a perfect idea, and also maybe, as others have suggested, think about having two so they keep eachother comapny while you and hubby are away. Congrat on the new marrital status by the way! (I'm in the same position, got married in April!) You'll need to be organised, and if possible have one of you, or a neighbour/friend, let them out at lunch time, and you'll have to spend quality time (lots of games and walkies) with them before and after work.
