I filed mine every night for 4 nights just making sure they are comfortable with it and I checked for the black dot noted on instructions I've read and haven't gotten close to it yet. The fact that they are smooth and not jagged and sharp is a definate plus and they do get used to it alot quicker than clippers. I will not be with out it again!!!
