Do you know how they test for heartworms? and what are the symptoms? I was going to a vet where I used to live a few hours from where I just moved and they were unsure of the amount or type of medicine to give my small yorkie (under 3 lbs full grown) and he said that it really was not necessary to give it to such a small dog. OBVIOUSLY THEY WERE WRONG! I should have got a second opinion somewhere else but we were so busy with moving I never did!
