Thank you everyone. Yes, Toby is the little guy in the avatar, one of the few times in the last two years that he has sat still for more than 4 seconds. My hubby and I steered clear of small dogs for years, since each one we had met seemed to be yappy. I had always wanted a yorkie though, and when I saw this little guy just a few weeks before my birthday, I couldn't resist.
He has turned out to be an absolute doll, although he can be a little stubborn at times. He was housetrained within the first two weeks, only barks when he hears something or someone on the porch (we live in the woods, so we have a racoon problem), and travels everywhere with us. If there was an assurance that they all turned out like him, I would have a house full of the little furballs.
