I know CupofDog was probably teasing about "trashy magazines and a heating pad"......BUT I think the heating pad might be an idea!! When we are having cramps, sometimes a heating pad does soothe them. And, they make heating pads for dogs, so it couldn't hurt to try! I bet if you layed it on the floor or in her bed, she'd NEVER move from that spot!! Just a thought.....

Other than that, I can't think of anything that helps make humans more comfortable other than Motrin and Midol, which obviously would NOT be ok for her! EXCEPT, a little massage goes a long way when Mother Nature comes calling. Maybe she'd like it if you rubbed her belly or her back or her legs a little, sort of "massaging" rather than scratching or petting, though I bet she'd like that too??

(Bella just got spayed last Friday, so they shaved a little of her belly hair and about a 2 inch strip all the way around BOTH legs [for her IV, which they only used one leg for!!] just above her foot--needless to say, since I am working on leaving her hair long, she looks like a Clydesdale right now! ANYWAY, she bites/licks a those areas, but she stops and just lays there when I scratch them for her! All that hair growing back in must be itchy!!)
