I'm not a breeder, but I *think* that the sex doesn't matter. I believe it's the pedigree that dictates size.
On a side note, Lexi is 1yr+3 months and weighs 5 lbs. Her mother weighed 6 lbs. and her father weighed 5 lbs. Carter is 6 months old and weighs 8lbs. His mother weighs 7 lbs and his father weighs 8 lbs so we knew he was going to be bigger (a real man's man!)
