I think there is a fine line between rules and censorship. Things can get a bit on the iffy side if you ask me.
I was in on that thread in the OT forum and it started decently if you ask me. There was one person that is a fairly newbie that kept throwing comments that were meant to inflame and I like the rest of the others I know totally ignored that person's post. I know when I jumped off at twelve thirty we were innocently talking about how to get a yorkie in the white house. If things went awry after that then I am sorry to hear that.
I think that there should be a spot where we can discuss such things as long as there is no name calling or cussing. In a family you don't censor things just because one of you might not like the others take. You discuss civilized and share you ideas and thoughts. That is what this whole thing should have been about. That is how you learn and grow.
I don't feel the thread should have been locked. Maybe remove the offensive posts and let the rest be.
I do understand that politics is a no no according to the rules but there are a alot of other things that might be deemed offensive such as the hunting thing. I think that if your offended by something then you can easily walk away from it without throwing gasoline on that fire.
Megan I fully and totally agree with your position on the issue. Sometimes I think that the moderators should rethink some of the things they censor. If you want to censor things then there should be an across the board level of censorship to things that are offensive. If YT is to only be about yorkies then that should be across the board and encompass all things that might be offensive.
I have seen things closed on here that made me scratch my head because I didn't see the need for it but what can you do. I guess the only thing is to walk away and spend your time doing things other than sharing on YT.
