Oh boy there is alot of good advise here. I took mine with me as often as I can when I leave.
The radio, TV animal planet. Calling the house and the having the answering machine play messages as they are bing recorded.
Think about a playmate if at all possible.
Try to take him for a walk outside before you leave to tire him out somewhat.
I find my 6 month old male wants to get at the squirrels in my yard and the chip monks etc.
After all they are hunters.
So even though they are saying ,"what about me take me, I think they are saying I'll hold down the fort don't worry I might make a mess but I'mm not letting anyone else in unless you say so." That takes awhile for a dog to get out. And then they have to go to every window to bark under or to the doors just to make sure you're not playing a game of hide and seek.
