I found one of those metal combs in A beauty supply store, for A $1. This is what the groomer told me to get for Suzi. I also use A hair comb too, but always brush her out first, then get to the hard stuff.
For Suzi she becomes easily matted around her legs too. And I have seen her actually lift her leg to pee
