Is there anyway you can get a blanket or towel with the new puppies smell on it for Jake to smell and get use to? Show it to him and give him treats and praise. Have him sleep with it and put it by his food bowl. Can you go visit with Jake? We were able to visit with Boo before we got Gracie and then again visited with Boo and Gracie before we got Yogi. It seemed to help the transition some for all involved.
Lots of love and attention to Jake when the puppy comes. Some say to give the established dog the food, treats, pets first. I find that mixing it up works well for us. That way no one dog thinks he's higher then the other. But I always make sure that Boo gets a bit more one-on-one attention since he is older and a bit more sensitive.
Don't expect Jake to run and play with the puppy at first, so it will be your job to play with the puppy and wear him out.

Don't force Jake, he'll join in when he's ready. Don't let the puppy bully him either. Gracie was relentless with Boo and it wore him down at first. He quickly figured out that he could get up on the furniture to get away when he needed a break so fortunately he never had to get firm with Gracie to get her to back off. Although she did push him too far a few times and he whipped around and barked at her. I reinforced Boo's "no" with Gracie and praised Boo for his "good no". The only time I stepped in was if Boo started to show the slightest food agression. Gracie grew up with a pack of 7 and knew how to share a bowl of food. Boo would just stand over the bowl and not let her in to get a bite. As long as his posture stayed relaxed and there was no growling or cutting looks I let her handle it - she'd bark at him as if to say, Were are your manners! You need to share.
Walks together as a pack will go far to build the bond for all of you. And make the puppy walk with ya'll, don't carry him. It's the walking together that bonds the group. It took Gracie a few tries to figure it out and Yogi got it about 10 minutes into our first walk. I don't know what it is about the walking that bonds everyone together, but it does and who am I to argue with it. I'm just happy it's something so simple.
Good luck and post pictures as soon as you can!!
