If I let him he'd drink a gallon a day. He empties his bowl whenever I fill it. He has a drinking problem
The vet said AT LEAST 1 oz per pound, plus more if it's hot, he's active, has lots of treats, etc. He weighs 8 pounds and I measure 12 oz every morning and he usually drinks all of that (given in small amounts) by 4:00. I give him more, plus ice cubes, after our walk and with his dinner. Yes, he goes out to pee every 20 minutes.
I told him when he was a baby that when he learned NOT to pee in the house he could have as much water as he wanted, so now he has and I'm trying to live up to that.
