I've used AI twice, once when a particular stud dog could not perform, and once with a stud that was owned by someone who doesn't believe in natural insemination. One resulted in no puppies, the other gave me two oversized puppies, one stillborn due to being breech and stuck in canal. Of the two breeders I know who regularly use AI, their litters are small with consequential oversized whelps and poor survival rates. I'm not a medical person and this is a very small sample, but big enough to convince me to stay with the natural methods for the forseeable future.
