My mom lives with us and her apt (mother in law suite) is 1100 sq feet. She has two in her area, and could probably use another one.
They are about $25.00 at PetSmart here in Abilene, Texas. You can get them on sale for about $21 or $22. So we would just get one at a time when we went to the store since they are so high.
And I clean them in the shower with some shampoo and a rag and let them drip dry.
