They get along fine. My shihtzu was our first dog ever so he didn't take to the new dogs for a while. Now he is fine with them. His favorite is Ninja the male dog and Lexie he tollerates because she is always in his face trying to lick him.
They will eventually bond. Gizmo was way bigger than them when I first got them and he was terrified of them but now he loves them...
