I felt the same way, as Hootie is 3lbs and Hobbs is 3.5-4lbs. Everything was perfectly fine except for the eye incident. I've put them both under before to get fixed. I met with the vet then and i also met with him this time regarding the anesthesia. He said it really doesn't matter how much they weigh...i.e., anesthesia isn't more or less dangerous if the dog is big or small. So, that was reassuring. I figured there are benefits and risks to cleaning and not cleaning their teeth. So, I went ahead and had them cleaned. Hopefully they'll live longer now that I've done that.
