Personally I think it's more the attitude of a certain puppy than the sex. I picked my male Maltese because he was the puppy I had the best feeling about. He was calm and sweet and although he went through a phase of being an aloof little stinker he is now a total cuddle bug. I picked my female yorkie because she was such a sweetheart, she immediately bonded with me and my husband, she even fell asleep in his arms. I did want a female for my 2nd dog because I'll admit, I wanted to buy lots of pink frilly things for her.
