Each year near to us there is a village that as an annual boat parade. It's done at night and all the boats are lit up, they parade up and down the river and then they set off some fireworks.
The history of the boat parade dates back as far as 1897 when it was first staged to celebrate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee.
It's really very pretty. I took some photos but I didn't have the camera on the right setting so I really didn't get that many that were any good, I did manage to find a couple of photos on flickr though that will give you an idea and I did take a couple of videos that came out well.
This photo shows the river where they parade the boats and how pretty it looks with all the lights reflected in the water
Looking down the river with the trees either side with the big coloured spotlights shining into them
This is the boat that won 1st place, the Ghostly Galleon... even though this is a great photo you can't appreciate how beautiful this looked in real life as it went up and down the river. It was so detailed and luckily this photographer, (being a professional), picked up alot of the detail
