Hi and WELCOME !!!

Well, if your uncle is a surgeon vet, he should surely know better than us - so I guess I would trust his answer. The issue is that his muscle is weak right now from not having been used (in the cast) - so I'd make sure he was very careful with it.

Also, many of us have little "stairs" for the smaller guys - by the sofa and/or by the bed and you can teach them to use those so they don't jump down. At your pups young age though, falling off is such an issue bc he hasn't yet learned about heights, most likely - so I'd never leave him unattended on a sofa or bed.
