Since you already have two I don't know how far I'd push your wife with another. My hubby never wanted a dog, his family didn't have good luck with them growing up. This little rescue Yorkie we got the end of June is the only dog we've had he's liked. Actually he loves her! But I always did all the pet maint. since he didn't want the others and he tollerated them because I loved them and he loves me. I don't know how far I'd get with multiples however he mentioned maybe getting a playmate for her the other day. But decided she may not like sharing the spot light since it's the first time in her life she's had it. Not to mention she's a dream to travel with, two would be a little difficult. Maybe I need to find another pig..........
