From the research I have done online I have learned....

Silky is 7+ lbs, pointy features, longer body than tall, sturdy build, shorter coat

Yorkie is smaller (up to 7 lbs), more round features, square built, small boned, long coat

My Daxter is a Yorkie!

I think its funny that someone told you he was a silky because of his color! Tan, black and silver are very common for yorkies. That just strikes me funny in the same way that someone asking me if I have a "teacup or regular" yorkie does. I just have to remind myself that not everyone is aware of breed specifications or what the standard is.
