My vet said an oatmeal and aloe shampoo should sooth the itching. Bubba had some bad spots from scratching, vet said it would be ok to try the Sulfadene shampoo and has worked great. It helps the itching..the bad spots are healing nicely. It also has conditioners in it to calm the dryness and flaking. I just give a slow leisurely bath, gently rubbing in the shampoo..he looks at me as to say "Ahhhhhh, thanks Mom." Bubba also takes a half of an adult Benedryl pill twice a day..he weighs 12 lbs.
