Sounds like Smokey! I even tried baby gating them in the bathroom hoping that when he has these accidents, he would do it in one spot other than in front of the door... and where does he do it? In front of the door! I come home to smashed poop and I KNOW it wasn't Chip because he just doesn't do things like that. Drives me insane, but I blame it on his past life before us.
