Not strictly true... I'm still nursing my daughter now who is 9.5months and my cycle started back up again when she was little under 6months and she was exclusively nursed till then too.

Yep, minimum of 6wks for your body to get back to normal. You really need to go get that check up and speak to them about about birth control. You're cycle may take a while before it becomes regular again, mine took 3 months before it stopped coming every TWO weeks... yes, what a joyous time that was...
