Question Vibrating collars for deaf dog?

One of my babies is deaf. We have a male that we bought for a companion for Parker bg (before girls) what we didn't know was that he was deaf. It took me almost a week to realize that it wasn't because he was used to being in an outdoor pen w/other dogs & not indoor with a lot of human interaction. Now we are trying to train him. Just the basics, nothing special. We have to get his attention by stomping on the floor/banging on the table or going up to him if he is not looking. He is smart enough that if he falls asleep & we move away from his immediate area, he barks, seeing us or the other furbies he stops. But, our actions has caused our others to become less startled to vibrations which living next to a military installation where bombing is practiced along with sound bearers being broken does help, it is not always productive or appropriate. We were contemplating a vibrating color (non-shocking of course) to get his attention as well as to assist in our training. We use common hand signals which he does pretty well with, but that only applies if he is looking at us. Has anyone had/have a deaf dog or have/has used a vibrating collar? Any advice is soooooo welcomed. Thanks, Sheila
