It's real common for Yorkies to have to have baby teeth pulled. I had done a fair amount of research (thru this site) so I tried as best I could to get as many to come out beforehand. I also waited longer than originally planned to give her more time to have her baby teeth fall out.
As far as the price goes, it's all about the vet. My "spay" bill was higher than the original quote because I had teeth removed, a microchip put in, and her semi-annual check-up along with a kennel cough vaccine. But the total for all that was still way way way less than I thought it would be.
You have to find a vet you can trust. Before choosing a vet, I went into a few different offices, and called even more. So far, my vet has done nothing to abuse my trust. Plus, everyone in her office loves Harley and Harley gets excited when I drop her off there, so that must be worth something. |
