The active ingredient in Solid Gold's SEP (and similar products like Deter and Forbid) is Glutamic Acid, which is essentially the same thing as MSG (monosodium glutamate). Thus, I'd caution anyone using this product to keep an eye open for adverse reactions commonly associated with MSG.
This is from a CNN article referencing a WebMD article and discusses human reactions to MSG but it seems that certain ingredients can cause reactions in both our pets and ourselves:
