Thank you very much!!!! When I asked the vet if his eye would be ok, she said yes. But it's not like she reassured me over and over that it would heal properly, etc. I wish I felt more confident about it. *Sigh* I seem to overreact. Surely he'll be fine. Like you said, surely it can't be all that uncommon.
