Are both your male and female line bred. If so, are either side prone to throwing large puppies. I was taught by a very reputable breeder (doing this 45 years, with over 100 Champions that she has finished alone). If you see a stud that would improve what you would like, go to the stud's sire, because you see what he's thrown. But, as I said previously, you have to know your pedigrees. Meaning every dog withing the pedigree. Knowing and following litter mates, etc. Not an easy thing this breeding. Some of it is a science and some of it is an art; having an eye for a good dog.
