I adopted a 6 year old Westie 2 years ago. She is now 8 years old, and SHE IS A WONDERFUL DOG!!! In my opinion, much easier than a Yorkie (shhhh--don't tell Edie!!), but I did not have to deal with any difficult puppy years. She is a good companion for my Yorkie, Edie, and they really have fun together.

If my Westie, Breezy was a human, she would be a comedienne. She is JUST HILARIOUS.

Oh---and the tighter you hug her, the more she loves it. That dog is just a LOVE BUG....She thinks that my husband is hers, and she just stares at him adoringly all the time. Sometimes, I get a little jealous!

Regarding exercise, I do walk her, but not every day. I have a nice yard, and there is a doggie door, so she just goes outside to run around whenever she feels like it. Sometimes I get up in the middle of the night, and I see her out there in the dark in the middle of the yard (she is so white that she glows!) just looking up at the stars.

My Yorkie was my first dog, and she will always be my baby. But I can absolutely say that the Westie is a wonderful dog---highly recommended.
