I don't think you are a horrible trainer. You have to just stick with it. My Strawberry was 12 weeks old when I brought her home and within the first 2 weeks she learned 'sit' and 'laydown'. Not all at once...but with a little bit of training each day, she got it! Now at 18 weeks she can do those and 'give me 5' on command 100% of the time. She will even do these for my friends and family if the ask her and she does them even if we don't hold up a treat. She'll do tricks for love! She is great! She will 'come' and 'stay' too, but only when it is beneficial to her or I start to use my tough momma voice. Haha. She is a stubborn girl, but very smart. It is never too early to start. Just don't give up and lose momentum. Keep at it and I am sure your little Hooks will catch on soon! Good luck!
