GOOD for you!!!! It is scary them going through surgery...but I think the risks of surgery are far LOWER than the possible complications of carrying and delivering a litter of pups!!! Plus she might change after she's had a litter.....I wouldn't want that for my baby!!! Just check around and find a vet near you that comes highly recommended!! Then you'll rest easy!!
