Your puppy's vaccines should have continued every 3-4 weeks until he was 16 weeks old. 12 weeks old is too young to stop vaccinating, your breeder should have let you know when he was due for his next vaccine and explained that to you. Where your vet made the error was not having you boost the vaccine he gave at 5 months old 3-4 weeks later, then that 2nd booster would have been good for one year. He has had several vaccines...yes but they just were not done in a good manner.

We vaccinate at 8-10 weeks old (DAPP) for the first one and then a series of three vaccines every 3-4 weeks finishing when they are 16-18 weeks old.

If vaccines are started at or after 16 weeks old, only 2 vaccines 3-4 weeks apart are needed to build up immunity.

The rabies does not require a booster and the length it is good for is based on your state law. In Ohio the first one is good for one year and every one after that is good for 3 years.
