Question Working Woman needs advice!!

My husband and I are planning on purchasing a yorkie soon. We are both working people and will be leaving our Yorkie at home alone most of the day. From what I have read already the best plan seems to be to get a crate and leave it open in a bathroom/kitchen area that is gated off from the rest of the house. Leave potty pads or a litter box in the room as well.

My question is the food. We will obviously feed it before we leave for work but from there we seem to be stuck on what to do as far as a midday feeding. Some say leave food out and available all day. Some say only leave water out all day, no food. The puppy will probably be 8-10 weeks old so I know it needs to be fed 3-4 times a day.

I guess we need some advice from people who work full time. What worked for you? What didn't? etc? Hope someone can help!! Thanks!
