Just yesterday we gave both the dogs the lowfat food they gave us (it's W/D prescription diet low fat dry food), and it's like it goes right through them! They both couldn't hold it in the house, and when we got home this evening, poop was all over the house!
Zoey is very lean and thin, while Chuck is like a big fat sausage (17lbs). I am wondering what would be the best food for both of them. They've both eaten out of the same bowl ever since they were puppies, and it's very difficult to give them both different foods, without one getting into the other's.
Please let me know what I can do about this, thank you!! |
awww poor guys. Pancreatitis is tough- Layla just got diagnoised this monht however she has never had any symptoms it just came up in rountine blood work. I HIGHLY suggest home cooking. I'm guessing their tummies are upset because of the bad quality of the food (yes...v ets sell bad quality food...) You can bake chicken and turkey breast and fish- this is what Layla gets.. with potatos/sweet potatoes or canned pumpkin and then some green veggies steamed. I cook about once a month once every two months maybe and then just freeze it. I got her diet made for me from a Nutritionist named Susan - askariel.com and it was THE BEST $78 dollars i have EVER spent. On her website you can by Lypase enzyme which will REALLY help with their pancreatitis... ti can seem very overwhelming at first but home cooking is SO easy and Susan is so helpful with telling how much of what they need to get the proper K/cals per day. If you have any otherw uestions please ask.. i'll do my best.. i'm new with the pancrease issues too
Until you decide what you are going to do- bake chicken breasts for them with some baked potato... that will calm their tummies down. Also NON fat yogurt will help get them back to normal. as will canned PURE pumpkin.
