I can't really say whether those prices are good or not but I just have to add my two cents here.

I'm very careful now when I ask for prices at the vets because I had called before to get a quote don't even remember exactly what it was but lets just say it was shots and they said something like $30 but then when I got there, it turned out that you couldn't get a shot without a checkup which was close to $50 and then they said I also needed another shot - it seems like I never walk out of there for less than $100. So I guess I would just make absolutely sure that the $200 figure is really the total cost. I'm afraid that when you get there they would say the surgery is $200 but the anastesia is another fee on top of that and on and on. Especially when others are paying so much more but if not.... you are lucky and I'm jealous that you have such a reasonably priced vet.
