I can't answer your question about food, but I did want to welcome you here.
I've been learning about the Bergamasco breed, and you should only wash them TWICE A YEAR
to protect the skin. They should be brushed often to distribute oils through the mats, which they are supposed to have, but only 2 baths a year!
(A Bergamasco sheepdog looks kind of like a Puli, but with flat mats instead of dreadlocks. Here's a picture:
