Start getting her use to your handling that area by just petting her topknot area when she's just sitting in your lap. Then start gathering the hair without trying to put anything in the hair. Let her get use to being handled in the topknot area. When you are ready to put the band in put her on a narrow table or counter area (personally I found the best place to be the toilet seat lid!!
) this way she will not want to move about because she'll feel unstable. Use the small orthodontist size rubberbands they'll wrap around no more than twice and are easier to use than larger bands. Bottom line practice, practice, practice...both you and Zoe will get use to it sooner than you realize!!
