If I was quoted $200 for a c-section...I would be asking what they aren't doing that they should be. They have to be cutting corners or they are losing a ton of money. We have a great working relationship with 2 veterinarians that are on call for us 24/7...if one is out of town we have a back up...but we know in detail their procedure, the medications they use, the precautions they take and how they are monitored during a c-section.
We pay on average $1000 for a c-section.
Some other costs you are going to want to know are x-rays, ultrasounds, puppy check-ups and vaccines to scratch the surface. These are all costs that will accumulate fast and are expected costs...there can be several unexpected costs as well, those are tougher to prepare for because you never know what they will be.
