I have had Stormy for two weeks tomorrow. From my understanding she has been active and jumping on couches all her life and Brenda has never had a problem. My couch isn't even very high, my shihtzu which was 3 lbs would jump off the couch and he was never hurt, it really is a low couch. That is the only piece of furniture she jumps off, she doesn't jump on the bed or off it, the door is usually closed. But from what I know is that luxating patella is genetic or if they were hurt young. This is what the vet told me and what I have learned from speaking to a couple who breeds yorkies around my area. Im really hoping this is a sprain if she did jump and just landed on her foot wrong, I don't know, I know it isn't broken unless it would be a hair line fracture but I just don't know she has been fine til now. |
