Default scales and supplementing babies

You can buy scales at stores like home depot that measure in grams as well as ozs.
If the puppies are early' she may not be producing milk yet, so it is important that you weigh them in grams and then check in a few hours that they are not losing weight. New borns sometimes lose 3 or 4 grams the first day, but if they are losing more, I would supplement them.
Newborn puppies need milk at least every 3 to 4 hours, so if she isn't giving any and they are losing weight you will have to supplement with a milk supplement for puppies until she gives enough..
If they are not taking milk, the bottle nipple hole may not be large enough for them to suck it through since they are so young. If it is too large , though , they will get the milk in their lungs, so it has to be just right.
