At first he was only itching in a couple of spots and licking his front paws. We went to the vet and did the first scrap test, negative. She gave me antibiotics and steriods and thought it was allergies? We finished all the meds and he started itching REALLY bad and developed the crusty edges of his ears and red tiny bumps on his neck, belly and all over. We went back again, she did another scrape test and negative, gave me another course of anti, suggested benedryl and still thought it could be allergies and that I should see a derm. I couldn't get an appointment w/ derm til this coming Tuesday, but last night was the final straw. Based on A LOT of reading on the internet and the fact that neither of us slept a wink last night.and that we've had wild fox at my dootrway, I'm convinced its sarcoptic mange, thus the shot today..time will tell..sorry this is SO long!!but I wanted to give you the whole story, it has been extremely painful.I'm not an expert, but he has all the classic signs and I HAD to do something to help end this misery!I actually believe the initial meds made it much worse! Thoughts?
