Most of the fee was to cover the vet bills they incountered and for the things that they purchased. They gave me the bill which was over $140 then showed me how much they paid for the clothes and such they bought for her. Expenses aside, the reward alone was $250. I had no problem paying that, my initial reward fee was $1000 until my mother told me that there was no way I was paying that. I don't care about the money, just that I have her back, But I will call the cops and make a report just in case (I know my mama would LOVE that).

The police can at least look into who they got your dog from. And since they had trouble answering your question about the hair there is still a chance that they took her, but then got tired of caring for her and decided to get the reward and their money back.
