I doubt there is a connection between the two, it takes time for crystallization, but no doubt that it must be taken care of by your vet. Bladder stones are recurring and a prescription diet is a must. Some crystals can be dissolved by medication but some are not, they require to be surgically removed. I'll be praying for your pup. My Nygee had a cystotomy 4yrs ago, and she has developed stones again.
