I remember when my second daughter was born, she was a preemie and didn't catch on to nursing, had apnea and was just so frail looking. I was so worried about her that it took me a while to relax and bond. But! Bond we did
So, it even happens with human babies.
With Abigail, (my 9 month old furbaby) I put my dep. on her BEFORE she was even born! Then I had to wait 20 days for her to be born and then 10 weeks to bring her home! I looked at the pictures every single day, visted her...I was so excited and full of anticipation. YES! I was in love. Then Daisy came along 9 days later...very suddenly. She was rehomed to us at 2 yrs old. I knew I loved her and wanted her to be safe and happy, but it took just a bit longer to feel that bond. Of course I think it did on her part too.
Now we're all one big happy family! Just as you will be with your baby
