Believe me, they're high strung way after the age of 3..My daughter rehomed one that was given to her that was 8 years old, that dog was doing flips off the couch and jumping like a kangaroo when I would come in, I said NO WAY!! my niece has one older than that, and it's still hyper, so don't believe they slow down at 3
