For yorkies and small breeds in general 12-14 weeks is the acceptable time line. However some people will let them go later if they are small. I got mine at 9 wks... and it was still way to soon for him, he was very immature and we had alot of blood sugar problems and he got sick really easy, wasn't able to eat hard food real well yet. Then i got my girl at 14 weeks and I was so nervous we might have a repeat problem and we had none! My husband and I actually thought at one point maybe our first was mentally retarded... (hahaha) because he was just so off not at all a puppy very much still a baby... and really needed his mom still. But i must say after I had to hand feed him every 3 hours for a month we bonded very well... not really they way we wanted to but now he loves me best and knows I will always care for him even if its not always fun.
