I had the exact same thing happen to Tino earlier this week. I found a tick under his chin and was able to remove the whole thing..but he had a lump under his chin at the bite site for a few days. He had his lyme shot, but we called the vet just to be sure. She said that the shot is only about 85% preventative and told us that we should keep an eye on him. She said to watch for any lethargic behavior...or anything else out of the sorts for him. We are going to have him checked in about two months...any time earlier could give a false positive. She said that if...God forbid, he was positive, he could be treated with antibiotics.

It was so scary and I sorta freaked out...but she made me feel much better!
