Embarassed 2 Yorkies Shivering in the Cold

I'm annoyed at one of my neighbors. It's starting to get chilly here in NY and it's always more cold at night when the sun goes down. So Monday, hubby and I was taking the kids for their evening walk and we came across my neighbor and her 2 Yorkies. Keep in mind that it was windy and the sun had already set. The poor little guys were SHIVERING!!! It was so obvious that they were cold.

So I said to her why don't get get them a little sweather for the winter? And she went on this whole rant about how expensive clothes are and that they are DOGS and what a waste of money it is. I told her that I have a lot of extra sweaters and I would gladly give her a few because her boys look about the same size as my Codie. Seriously, it would not have been a hardship for me because my kids have such a excessive amount of clothes anway. But she said no, they are DOGS and they don't mind the cold. So I said to her well if they don't mind the cold, why are the literally shaking and SHIVERING? They looked so miserable and you know what, it's going to get even colder as we get deeper into the winter.

I feel so bad for those little guys. I can't imagine her walking them at night when it gets really cold.

I feel so unsettled about this. I see her walking them a lot and I think I'm going to offer her some clothes again the next time I see her. I just can't stand the thought of them being outside in that freezing weather with no protection from the wind. Do you think I should or should I just let it go?

I don't understand how someone could walk their dog in freezing winter weather and not put a little sweater on them. I'm not talking about spending hundreds of dollars or buying designer brands. Just a simple $5 shirt or sweater from Walmart or Target and I KNOW they sell them cheap like that because I've seen them in stores. They don't even have to buy multiple sweates -- just one would be enough. I think sweaters are a necessity with these little dogs because they don't have FUR or a double coat like some breeds do; they have hair similar to our hair and they DO get cold.

Poor little guys.
